Digital Guardians: 3D Modeling from Photos and 3D Printing of Historical Scale Models In engineering design and CNC manufacturing, we are accustomed to working with high-precision parts, accurate measuring tools, and ready-made CAD blueprints. Some time ago, however, I decided to transfer this manufacturing precision into a completely different and noble field: cultural heritage preservation. I took on the challenge of recreating the historical landmarks of a picturesque Bulgarian town into a large-scale, interactive 3D map. The main difficulty in this project was the complete lack of 3D scanners, architectural blueprints, or structural plans. Every single object had to be built entirely from scratch in the digital workspace, relying solely on **a series of regular 2D photographs** captured from various angles.
